WE DON'T TRACK YOU.

NO TRACKING, NO ADS
We do not use ad networks, tracking SDKs, IDFA, third-party analytics, or behavioural profiling. No App Tracking Transparency prompt because we have nothing to track.
LOCATION
Your device location is used only while the app is in use, to find nearby restaurants. We never track location in the background and never store your location on our servers.
WHEN YOU SIGN IN
You can use 1000Yen Eats fully anonymously. If you choose to sign in, we store an email address (or Apple Sign In identifier), an optional display name, and an optional @handle. Apple Sign In's hide-my-email relay is honoured if you use it.
MEAL LOGS
When you log a meal, we store the restaurant, the time, an optional meal-time tag (breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack), an optional paid amount, an optional note (up to 280 characters), and an optional photo. Every meal log is private by default and visible only to you, unless you turn on MAKE PUBLIC for that specific meal.
PHOTOS
Meal photos you upload are stored in a user-scoped folder in our private storage and served via a signed URL. They are deleted when you delete the meal log or the account. We do not analyse photo contents or run image recognition.
FRIENDS AND THE FOLLOW GRAPH
If you follow someone, that follow edge is visible to any signed-in user (we don't sell or share it, but the graph itself is the social product). Your follow graph stops the moment you delete your account or unfollow.
PUBLIC MEAL LOGS
Meal logs you mark public, and achievement badges you opt to show on your profile, are visible to any signed-in user.
ACHIEVEMENTS AND STREAKS
Achievements unlock from patterns in your own meal logs and stay private until you choose to share. Streaks are computed from your meal log timestamps and shown only to you.
AFFILIATE LINKS
When you tap RESERVE on a restaurant card, the URL we open may include an affiliate identifier. We may earn a small commission if you make a reservation. You pay nothing extra. We do not share who tapped what with the affiliate partner beyond the standard click identifier in the URL.
RESTAURANT DATA
Restaurant locations, names, and basic information are sourced from OpenStreetMap and Google Places. Provided "as is": business status, hours, and pricing may not be current.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
We use Supabase (database, auth, photo storage), Mapbox (map rendering), Apple (Sign In), OpenStreetMap and Google Places (restaurant data), and Tabelog (reservation redirect, when wired). Each has its own privacy policy.
OFFLINE DATA
When you download a city for offline use, restaurant data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. It never leaves the device and can be deleted from the Settings screen.
DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT
Profile → Delete Account permanently removes your account, profile, meal logs, photos, saved restaurants, follow edges, and achievement state. We honour this right within the app and never email-gate it.
AI AND TRAINING
We do not use your meal logs, photos, notes, or any user-generated content to train AI models, and we don't share them with services that would.
